West Jeff offers all of our mountain area girls the chance to play fast pitch softball in an environment which supports fun and teamwork. Historically, our recreational level teams start practicing after spring break. The time and location of practices are driven by what field time our coaches have available to them, when the coach is available to run practices and where a majority of the girls live on that team.
The season runs from mid-May to the first part of July. West Jeff is a member of the Girls Softball League of Jefferson County (GSLJC). We play home and away games against Alameda Green Mountain, Arvada, Bear Creek, Golden, Lakewood, South Jeff and Wheat Ridge. League schedules, standings, game rules for each age division, and other information can be viewed at the GSLJC web site.
League games are held on weekdays, younger ages generally play about 10-12 games, older ages generally play about 16-18 games. Our rec teams also can play in the GSLJC rec tournament. The tournament is held on the weekend in the summer, exact dates differ for each age division.
Age guidelines and grades are listed below. Depending on the needs of West Jeff to fill team rosters, team roster spot availability, and a players ability, a player can "play up" in age (a 10 year old can play on an 11 year old team), but can not "play down" in age (a 10 year old can not play on a 9 year old team).
