West Jeff offers tournament team opportunities with our teams playing under the banner of ROCKY MOUNTAIN RAMPAGE. These teams are designed for the players who have the skills, desire and commitment to play at higher levels. Families, as well as players, must be dedicated to meet the more demanding practice, game, and weekend tournament schedules. Individual Coaches and their team plan their own practice, game and tournament schedules, all of which determine the cost structure per player.
West Jeff can field Rampage teams at ages 10U (10 and under), 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U. Ages are based upon the players age on January 1 of that calendar year. For example, if a player is age 14 on January 1, they qualify to play age 14U the entire calendar year, even if they are 15 years old during the actual season. Players can "play up" in age (a 12 year old can play at 14U), but can not "play down" in age (a girl who is 15 on January 1, can not play 14U).
Weekend tournaments generally make up a big portion of the Rampage schedules. Individual teams determine their own tournament schedule. These tournaments are generally sanctioned by USSSA, Triple Crown, or ASA. Colorado tournaments generally begin in March, and run through mid-July for the USSSA State tournament. Most Rampage teams will supplement their tournament schedule by playing weekday league doubleheaders through the Girls Softball League Jefferson County. Our Rampage teams can designate themselves to play at the A, B, or C level, with "A" being the highest level.
TRYOUTS: To join a Rampage team you must attend a tryout. Rampage teams generally hold their tryouts for the following summer in mid to late July or August, following the annual Colorado USSSA Summer State Tournament. By contacting the Coach, it may be possible to arrange an individual tryout at other times throughout the year.
